ROLLOUT: ATMOS INTRODUCES ATMOSCOOTER!

In the past months, ATMOS Aerosol Research has been working on a sensor system that measures the air quality during the drive. In future it will be installed on e-scooters and will offer an ecological additional benefit and make a scientific contribution. The first “ATMOScooter” has recently been on the road in Linz for test rides.

Users are part of the research team

Exploring the air and doing good at the same time. This is what the ATMOScooters offer to the drivers. They automatically become part of the research team. The sensor housing is mounted on the handlebars. There the air quality is measured during the ride and transmitted to ATMOS. In addition, an app is to inform the users about the air that is inhaled about every day while driving to work.

The ATMOScooters fulfil several functions: They reduce the CO2 footprint of the users, support the research of ATMOS Aerosol Research and tell the drivers whether the air quality in their area is good for health. For the kilometres driven with the scooters, ATMOS also donates to self-help and research for cystic fibrosis.

Precise air data through multiple sources

In the future, ATMOS technology will combine several technologies and thus obtain the most precise data. The e-scooters, ground measuring stations and satellites will provide a more accurate view and allow more reliable statements to be made, for example about ongoing developments or short-term phenomena.

The ATMOS team is currently working on fine-tuning. n the further development of the system and keeps up to date on the ongoing progress.
